Team of Cyber Police Station, North-West nabbed 02 cheaters cum
fraudsters namely, (1) Punit Kumar S/o Lt. Sh. Mahinder Singh R/o
Pitampura, Delhi (Age-32 Yrs) & (2) Rahul Gupta S/o Sh. Prem Chand R/o
Shakurpur JJ Colony, Delhi. (Age-31 yrs) who used to cheat a company
namely, Shadowfox by creating their fake Partner IDs. Thereafter, they
used to collect the food orders from the restaurants and after delivering
the same to the customers, they collected the amount & did not deposited
the same to the company. The company was at a loss of around Rs. 4 Lakhs.
02 Mobile Phones and 08 SIM Cards used in commission of crime
recovered from their possession.
Brief Facts & Incident Details:-
On 07.01.2022, a complaint was received in which complainant Mr. Alok
Swami, Assistant Manager, Security, Shadowfax Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
stated that they have an MoU with Swiggy company to provide the Riders/
Delivery boys the food orders of customers for delivery. Thereafter,
company collects the delivery amount from customers and pays it to the
Swiggy company. Company hired the rider/ delivery boys to deliver the
food orders and company have also issued a partner ID to each delivery
boy. Orders are placed by the customers and for the payment, customers
usually take the option of “cash on delivery”. From the last 7-8 months,
some of its rider/ delivery boys collected the food orders from the
restaurants and after delivering the same to customers, they were taking
money and not depositing the cash to the company, due to which
company was suffering a loss of around 4 Lakhs.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR 01/22 u/s 420 IPC was registered in
Cyber Police Station, North-West and investigation was taken up.
Team & Investigation:-
Considering the gravity of the complaint and as technical knowhow
required to investigate the case, the matter was assigned to Cyber Police
Station/ North-West Distt. A team comprising of SI Sunil Chandra, SI Vinod
Kumar, HC Manish Yadav & Ct. Bijender was constituted under the
supervision of Inspr. Sunil, SHO/ PS Cyber, North-West District.
During the course of investigation, the detailed list of delivery boys/
riders was analyzed and thoroughly examined. It came into notice that
some of the IDs existed only for one or two days. Accordingly, technical
surveillance was carried out on these suspected persons. Based on the
technical analysis, local sources were deployed to gather intelligence
and due to persistent efforts of the team, one accused person namely,
Punit Kumar S/o Lt. Sh. Mahinder Singh R/o Pitampura, Delhi (Age-32 Yrs)
was apprehended.
